In this project Hard- and Software has been developed for Ultra Sound Phased  Array pipeline weld inspection.

The project involved high voltage transducer excitation, sensitive analogue signal detection, 100MHz A/D conversion of  hundreds of parallel channels resulting in a 600Gbit/s data rate and digital  signal processing.

Key design challenges were the combination of sensitive  analogue electronics with high voltage circuits and high bandwidth digital circuits in a small package. The designed PCB consist of 20 layers and contains  approximately 6500 components. High speed signal analysis was done using Mentor  Graphics tools to verify signal integrity during the design phase.
